Adventure
The Lantern Path
★★★★★ 4.7
The Lantern Path is gorgeous and gentle. You tap to walk, tap to examine, and slowly uncover a story told mostly through the world itself. There's no fail state, so it's the game we recommend to people who say they don't like games.
Puzzles are woven into exploration rather than dumped in your lap, and the hint system is polite — it nudges without spoiling. Everything is readable on a small screen, which a lot of adventure games get wrong.
It runs cool and sips battery, and the atmosphere lingers after you close it. One of our favorites this year, easily.
What we liked
- Relaxing, no fail states
- Story told through the environment
- Very easy on the battery
